Dieser ermöglicht es anhand eines äußerlichen Bodyscans Mangelernährung bei Kindern zu diagnostizieren. Eine Innovation, die Mitarbeiter:innen von NGOs in von Hunger betroffenen Gebieten neue Möglichkeiten zur Bekämpfung von Hunger und Unterernährung ermöglicht.

Markus Matiaschek an IT Solution Architect from Germany and product owner of the Child Growth Monitor.

He plans and coordinates the development of AI solutions, using lean and agile principles.

In his professional career of over 20 years he was consulting European and German government organisations and ministries on IT. Markus designed and implemented innovative solutions in the field of procurement, big data and cloud infrastructure. He served as managing director for a software company in Austria and founded a company himself in Costa Rica.

Winning an Innovation Challenge of the German NGO Welthungerhilfe in 2017 led to the development of the Child Growth Monitor, an AI enabled solution to measure children and support the diagnosis of malnutrition based on WHO standards.
